I love books so much that for ten years I made bookselling my career. Reading books, discussing them, and connecting them with people who love them in turn – this feeds my soul.

Because shelf space is limited at libraries and bookstores, and because online searches are often cluttered with paid ads (think about all those ‘sponsored’ title that show up in your Amazon searches), it’s not always easy to find the book of your dreams, especially if that book is not being actively promoted by a publisher.
It’s daunting to search floor-to-ceiling shelves filled with spine-out books, if you’re not sure what you’re looking for. The same goes for online searches. Your Book Group can help, by spotlighting authors and titles that (with a few exceptions) you won’t find in your bookstore’s display window.
Your Book Group is in its infancy, but we are growing. We offer book reviews, reading lists, book discussion questions for use in your own book groups, and the opportunity to engage in discussion by commenting on my posts.
You can trust me to be honest in my reviews. If you ask me for a book recommendation ( Just email me at mittenbookish@gmail.com), you can count on my response by the following day. (I do have a day job, so I can’t respond immediately.)
You can also find us on Facebook.
Now – let’s find your next hidden gem. Start with the menu links in red at the top of this page. Check out the column at the right for most recent reviews and posts.
