A Sneak Peek at April . . .

. . . which is National Poetry Month!

Poetry is meant to be spoken aloud, to fall upon our ears rather than our eyes.

All month long I’ll be posting YouTube videos of poets sharing their work. (In some cases the poetry might be read by someone other than the poet.)

Poets to watch for include former Poet Laureate Billy Collins, current Poet Laureate Joy Harjo, Theodore Roethke, with whom I share a hometown and a high school alma mater, Ann Sexton, Robert Frost, Dylan Thomas, Sylvia Plath, and Maya Angelou.

Stay tuned! If there’s a poet you would like to see featured, please email me at mittenbookish@gmail.com.
