Down Time

Sometimes we reach the end of our tethers, right? Today was that day for me.

After a night of very little sleep, I did try to go to work (from my home office/family room) today, but the sun was shining and Christmas tasks called.

So I took the day off!  I bought some yarn, which I wound from hanks into “cakes.” I haven’t wound yarn in a few years, and the act of winding was so peaceful – it felt familiar and soothing.  Here are the yarn cakes I wound; they are a little messy toward the end but still functional.  The wooden yarn swift was purchased at the Michigan Fiber Festival in Allegan Michigan about ten years ago.

When I was done winding and looking for beautiful patterns for the yarn, I updated my review of The Wine of Angels.   I will write more later in the week.

(((((((((((((((((((((((Cat)))))))))))))))))))))))))) I totally get where you’re coming from. Sometimes, you just need to do something simple to make yourself happy. I’m glad you found something soothing to do. And I love your yarn swift!!!

Thanks Anne! It was a fraction of the cost of a fancy collapsible swift but sometimes one of the pegs pops out. I still like it. It’s functional and pretty to look at without all of the wires of the collapsible ones.
