Wade Rouse 2022
Born and raised in the rural Ozarks, Wade Rouse had a complicated relationship with his father – complicated from the author’s youngest years until his father’s passing.
In Magic Season, a memoir of those years, Wade Rouse has shown readers his heart. This book IS his heart. Although parts of the story are necessarily dark, the memoir is, nevertheless, lit by the love inherent in Mr. Rouse’s words. And that’s a winner, folks.
It’s one of the bravest memoirs this reviewer has read, and it’s an easy five stars. I recomend the audio version, which is read by the author.
