National Novel Writing Month

Good Morning!

Did you know that November is National Novel Writing Month, (NaNoWriMo)?  Do you have a novel inside you waiting to be born? Are you a novel doula? A story midwife? You could start now; visit the site; participation is free. Bring your kids along too; if you scroll down on the site you can read about the Young Writers Program.

Yesterday, November 1, was also National Authors Day. For me, every day is authors day so I didn’t do anything special other than . . . launch this website which connects readers with books.

Trivia Question

Question mark on chalkboard Who is the world’s bestselling author, according to the Guinness Book of World Records? Her books have sold over 4 billion copies worldwide and have been translated into 44 languages.  Post your answer in the Comments section;  I’ll post the correct answer tomorrow.  (Since this is just for fun, please don’t Google for the correct answer.)

Hi Lindsay! This is a pretty solid guess – so solid that I double-checked the numbers; Ms. Rowling has sold over 500 million books – but there is at least one author who has sold more:

“… according to the Guinness Book of World Records, Agatha Christie is the world’s bestselling author? Her books have been translated in over 44 languages and have sold over 4 billion copies worldwide.”(timeanddate.com)
