You’ve read my review (hopefully) of the inaugural novel in Louise Penny’s Chief Inspector Armand Gamache Three Pines Mysteries – and maybe you’ve read the book. Did you know you can also watch the movie? It’s available on Acorn TV. (Really; this time I checked.)
The movie is entertaining. It doesn’t feel much like the book to me, but that’s pretty typical and won’t stop me from watching it a second time soon. I was initially put off by the fact that Armand Gamache (played by Nathaniel Parker of the Inspector Lynley Mysteries) doesn’t have a French accent, but that’s easy to move past.
Why not watch this movie on a rainy Saturday afternoon sometime soon? Make sure you’ve got some hot chocolate handy – and maybe a French pastry. If you haven’t read the book, the movie is a good way to get acqainted with the series (although I won’t lie; the book is better).
